राज्य निर्वाचन आयोग जिला पंचायत, ब्लॉक पंचायत, उत्तर प्रदेश ग्राम पंचायत चुनाव जिला पंचायत अध्यक्ष, जिला पंचायत सदस्य, ब्लॉक पंचायत प्रधान, ब्लॉक पंचायत सदस्य, ग्राम पंचायत प्रधान और ग्राम पंचायत सदस्य पदों के लिए करवाएगी। उत्तर प्रदेश राज्य निर्वाचन आयोग इन वर्ष 2020 में पंचायत चुनाव की आधिकारिक अधिसूचना जारी करेगा और इसी के साथ राज्य में आदर्श आचार संहिता तत्काल प्रभाव से लागू हो गई है।
दिसंबर 2020 में उत्तर प्रदेश में पंचायत चुनाव होने वाले थे लेकिन मौजूदा महामारी की स्थिति के कारण राज्य सरकार इसे जून 2024 तक टाल सकती है।
अपर मुख्य सचिव पंचायती राज मनोज कुमार सिंह ने इसकी पुष्टि करते हुए कहा कि अभ्यर्थियों के लिए न्यूनतम योग्यता और कुछ अन्य शर्तों के प्रस्ताव पर शासन स्तर पर विचार किया जा रहा है और जल्द ही इसे मूर्त रूप ले सकते हैं।

सूत्रों ने दावा किया कि ग्राम पंचायत चुनाव उत्तर प्रदेश के लिए महिला और आरक्षित वर्ग के उम्मीदवारों के लिए शैक्षणिक योग्यता कक्षा 8 तक हो सकती है, जबकि अन्य उम्मीदवारों को इंटरमीडिएट पास (कक्षा 12वीं) तक योग्यता रखना अनिवार्य हो सकता है। इसी तरह, महिला और आरक्षित श्रेणी के प्रतियोगियों के लिए

ग्राम पंचायतों का कामकाज

यूपी में ग्राम प्रधान, बीडीसी और जिला पंचायत सदस्यों का कार्यकाल नवंबर-दिसंबर में खत्म हो रहा है। बुलंदशहर में इस बार करीब 80% फीसद प्रधान, बीडीसी और जिला पंचायत सदस्य चुनाव नहीं लड़ पाएंगे। इसके पीछे कारण यह है कि 80% ने चुनाव खर्च नहीं वसूला है।
बता दें कि covid 19 की वजह से नवंबर-दिसंबर में होने वाले तीन चरणों के चुनाव समय पर नहीं होंगे। इस बार चुनाव लड़ने का सपना देख रहे अस्सी फीसद वर्तमान मुखिया, बीडीसी व जिला पंचायत सदस्यों का सपना सिर्फ सपना ही रह जाएगा। क्योंकि इनमें से अस्सी फीसद लोगों ने चुनाव आयोग के नियमों, दिशा-निर्देशों का पालन नहीं किया है।
